Thompson Wright Chartered Accountants have recently had a defibrillator installed on the outside of their head office building in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, which is located directly across from a public car park. The defibrillator is stored in a locked cabinet and is registered with the Ambulance service, it is available 24/7 for anyone who needs it.
This is in honour of Ian Wheat, a beloved employee and colleague who passed away last November. Speaking about Ian, Director Rachel Buxton, said “Ian always brightened the day of those around him with his funny stories and caring nature, he is sorely missed by all of the team. We wanted to install this defibrillator in Ian’s memory.”
A few members of the Thompson Wright team have completed first aid training and are now equipped with the knowledge to administer aid and can successfully operate the defibrillator in case of an emergency.
Richard Thompson, managing director said: “Having this life-saving piece of equipment is our way of giving back to the community. We are keen to make the news known in the Newcastle area so the public are aware of where they can find a defibrillator if they need one.”
