#LightupCastle Switch on Event!

Join us on Sunday 26th November from 12pm as we’ll be lighting up Newcastle-Under-Lyme with our Christmas Light Switch On for a fantastic, free, family day out with free craft activities for children, funfair rides, lantern making workshops, visits from Santa his Elf and meet and greets with Elsa and Anna!

Dan Townley (6 Towns Radio) and Lucas Yeomans (BBC Radio Stoke) will be hosting the Christmas festivities from our main stage and we’ll be joined at by the Your Heroes Awards Future Star, Child of Courage and Carer of the Year nominees to switch on the lights followed by a spectacular laser light show.

All the action from the main stage outside The Guildhall (High St) will start from 12pm with performances from local performing arts groups, followed by incredible live performances from The Rock Choir, Dan Budd as Robbie Williams and Levi Knapper.

Castle Artisan Market bring us 40+ of the best bakers, makers and creators in Staffordshire for som Christmas gift shopping as well as mouth watering street food from a selection of hot food vendors.

#LightupCastle Window Trail

A FREE Christmas window trail will take families through Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre as they search for clues to win prizes.

Launching on the town’s Christmas Light Switch On event on Sunday 26th November and will run until Monday 11th December.  Forms can be collected from participating businesses or can be downloaded here.

Designed by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, the trail guides families around twelve businesses in the town centre where festive symbols are displayed, created by local artist John Paul Green. Each location also reveals a letter that, when complete, will form a Christmas themed anagram.

Friday 8th December: A Thornbridge Brewery Tap Takeover with Naan Bags taking over the kitchen. Naan bags make naan bread shaped as a bag and fill them with rice and a choice of curries with toppings. Customers will be encouraged to wear their best Xmas jumpers for National Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Dougie Mac. 

Saturday 16th December: GG’s Christmas Food will be here from 4pm cooking up Xmas Dinner Yorkshire Pudding Wraps. Alisha Jean will be performing from 7pm. This is all to celebrate Julie, the landlady’s, birthday. 

22nd and 23rd December: Karaoke Disco hosted by Blue Parrot from 8pm and 7pm respectively.
