Last night the Newcastle-under-Lyme business community came together to celebrate business excellence at the LoveNUL Business Awards 2024.
Following a public nomination and voting process, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID proudly announced the winners at an awards ceremony held on Thursday 24th Octobers, at the Denise Coates Foundation Building, Keele University.
The event, attended by an audience of 170 included shortlisted businesses, partner organisations, sponsors, and key figures from the local business scene. The evening was hosted by BID Co-Chair Jane Tunnicliff, Group Head of Employer Engagement & Training at NSCG Newcastle College, who presented awards across 14 categories.
The evenings celebrations were opened by Stoke-on-Trent’s newly announced Poet Laureate, Nick Degg.
Jane Tunnicliff said:
“I was delighted to host the LoveNUL Business Awards at the Denise Coates Foundation Building this year. Bringing so many businesses together is a great opportunity to shine a light on the incredible businesses we have in our local area. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a passionate and thriving community who Love NUL and I look forward to seeing these businesses continue to grow and prosper.”
With 11 publicly voted for categories and 3 judges choice awards, businesses were honoured across a wide range of categories and included The Hair House (New Business of the Year Award), Hollies Haberdashery (Independent Business of the Year), STOCK by FEASTED (Restaurant of the Year) and Community Junction (LoveNUL Community Champion).

Jane said: “It’s impossible to imagine how many Sunday dinners, BBQs and Christmases have been made special with Cheadles produce over the years. Their family business was more than just a shop, it was a cherished part of our town. We want to take this moment to thank Henry for his decades of service.”
