FORMER THOMAS COOK TEAM TO REOPEN ON THE NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME HIGH STREET AS BARRHEAD TRAVEL
Barrhead Travel, one of the UK’s leading travel agencies, is investing in the relaunch of a new travel agency in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, bringing five local ex-Thomas Cook staff back to work.
The brand-new store located in Castle Walk, Newcastle-Under-Lyme and will open its doors before Christmas.
The Scottish-headquartered agency recently confirmed an expansion plan to open up to 100 new stores and rehire as many employees as possible in the wake of the Thomas Cook collapse.
Employees from the former Thomas Cook store are currently undergoing immersive training at Barrhead Travel’s dedicated Training Academy in Glasgow. The store will follow Barrhead Travel’s signature conceptual design and will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and branded experience areas.
Headed up by manager, Hayley Nixon, the high street travel agency will specialise in all types of holidays including cruise, longhaul, touring, city breaks, honeymoons and beach escapes. The team has over 105 years of travel experience between them.
